Truth is the essence of life.

Who’s your role model? Sachin Tendulkar? Barrack Obabma? Tiger Woods? What do you exactly search in your role model? Looks, capability or substance? Confused? Well what everyone emulates is the ‘substance’ in that particular person.

While on this topic, Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapeeth Narayan Desai has termed Gandhiji as the perfect role model for the younger generation. According to him since the pre-Independence era the Mahatma remains the ‘ultimate role model’ for every Indian.

Desai is a veteran Gandhian and author of books on Gadhiji’s thoughts. Deasai was airing his views on the occasion of much hyped ‘Gandhi Katha’, a discourse arranged for five consecutive days. Desai was touching every thing in life - from politics to daily struggles. Talking about his previous experiences with some young persons who benefitted from his discourses, Desai — son of Mahadev Bhai Desai, private secretary to Mahatma Gandhi - narrated how a young music enthusiast could understand that ‘money is not everything but truth is the essence of life’.
